The building of Alsunga medieval castle complex was started in the 14th century and completed only in the 18th century. During this period it faced also several reconstructions. The castle is unique in Latvia and abroad because it is one of the few medieval castles which has partly preserved its historic appearance. Today visitors are welcome to see the exposi- tion about the history of Alsunga castle, look at the ancient suiti kitchen or write a letter with a quill pen in Barbara’s boudoir. For your special occasions in romantic atmosphere the round tower of the castle could be a perfect place.
