Rudbārži Forest Park

Rudbārži Forest Park is special for its untouched nature and old trees. It is a former manor park, covering a total area of 9.6 hectares. The park is home to both native species and 57 introduced plant species.

A total of 121 bird species have been observed in the park and its surroundings.

The park also once contained the tombs of the Baron von Firks family, which were destroyed during the Soviet period. However, impressive ruins of the tombs can still be seen in the park today.

Embark on an exciting, interactive game called “Birders”, created by artist Vivianna Maria Staņislavska during the creative residency “Notes on the Margins: Kuldīga Municipality Residency for Creative Authors”.

What to expect:
An educational walk through Rudbārži Forest Park, where, using a map, you search for checkpoints with bird images and QR codes that reveal interesting facts about each bird.

From cultural worker Inese Ozoliņa or at the Rudbārži Library.

The game is perfect for both children and adults, combining active recreation with learning about nature, birds, and the Rudbārži area.
