Jeweler Uldis Melbergs

Jeweler Uldis Melbergs has set up a small workshop in the heart of Kuldīga’s Old Town, where he specializes in crafting, restoring, and creating metal details for various types of jewelry. The building once housed a jeweler’s shop during the early years of the First Latvian Republic, and today Uldis Melbergs continues the story of this half-basement level.

As the master himself says, he takes great joy in sharing the jewelry-making process with interested visitors. Therefore, Uldis is happy to offer the opportunity for guests to try their hand at minting a lucky coin, featuring the symbol of Kuldīga—Catherine’s image on one side and a Latvian symbol on the other.

The jeweler’s workshop is located in the very heart of the Old Town, set up like a small antique shop. As soon as you step inside, you can immediately sense the touch of history. The master, well-versed in the antiques and artifacts in his collection, is eager to share the fascinating stories and journeys of these items, as well as their connection to the jewelry-making craft.

Uldis Melbergs also accepts custom orders and is happy to breathe new life into old precious metals, sharing his knowledge and skills with visitors to his workshop.
