Adventure Tour: ”Along the Glass Path”

The “Along the Glass Path” tour is a multi-hour adventure involving boating, walking, and cycling.

The starting point is at the Old Brick Bridge over the Venta River, where participants board boats and travel downstream to the mouth of the Riežupe River. Here, the boaters disembark for a short picnic on land.

Afterwards, participants take a short hike to the Riežupe Sand Caves, which give the tour its name. Historically, sand extracted from these caves was transported to glass factories elsewhere in Latvia.

Following a guided exploration of the Riežupe Sand Cave labyrinth, participants continue the adventure by cycling back to the town along a 4 km route, enjoying views of the Venta River and the scenic Riežupe Nature Park.
