Līvija Rezevska Exhibition Hall

This house was the childhood and later life home of Kuldīga’s honorary citizen, sculptor Līvija Rezevska. Since 2001, it has housed the Līvija Rezevska Exhibition Hall.

On the first floor of the exhibition hall, visitors can view the sculptor’s works, donated by her to her hometown. The pieces vividly portray Latvian people—fishermen’s wives, stage performers, factory workers, and others. Her sculptures explore a variety of themes, including life, love, fertility, music, pain, and suffering.

Līvija Rezevska created over 200 works in granite, bronze, and chamotte. Many of her pieces are park sculptures and memorial monuments. The Kuldīga Sculpture Garden, featuring 22 sculptures, is one of her greatest lifetime contributions. Other works by the artist in Kuldīga include: the monument to revolutionaries and the fountain-monument “Girl with a Water Jug” in the 1905 Park, and the monument to the victims of the 1919 terror in the so-called Gotlība yard. Her outdoor works can also be seen at Anna Cemetery, the 1905 Park, and the Estrāde Park, while smaller works are displayed in the Līvija Rezevska Exhibition Hall at 19 Mucenieku Street.

The second floor of the building hosts a gallery featuring works by various artists, as well as meetings with well-known figures from the arts, including painters, poets, writers, and musicians.
