Ķoniņciems is one of the former Curonian Kings free villages in the surroundings of Turlava, which belonged to the family of Peniķi. As a testimony to the antiquity, there is the Elku grove and the families that have preserved the same surnames today as in the year 1233. Association “Dižavots” invites to find out more about ancient Latvian cultural group Curonian Kings cultural heritage by taking part in guided tours and seasonal celebrations characteristic to Curonian Kings, such as “Deity Ūsiņš – guardian of horses”, Solstice celebrations and The Balts’ unity day.
