”Ziedoņi” Peony Garden

At the beginning of June, the Kuldīga region always smells of peonies. Until the summer solstice, the “Ziedoņi” farm in Pelči Parish offers the chance to explore over 400 peony varieties, purchase plants, or simply enjoy their beauty and fragrance!

“Ziedoņi” boasts one of the largest peony collections in Latvia. The peony plants have been brought here from near and far—from the USA, France, the UK, Austria, the Netherlands, and other Latvian collectors. The farm is also involved in crossbreeding peonies and creating new varieties.

For those who wish to take a piece of the beauty home, cut flowers from several popular peony varieties are available for purchase.

Every year, during the second and third weeks of June, “Peony Days” are celebrated. During this time, the garden is open for visitors, and the spectacular blooms are complemented by musical performances and a cozy on-site café.
