The Bangotne Watermill was built in 1840 as part of Laidu Manor and was used for grain processing.
The mill has not been altered over the centuries. Its current owners, who acquired the mill in 2018, aim to preserve it as a way to show how millers and craftsmen lived and worked in the mid-19th century. Visitors can currently observe the restoration and construction processes at the mill.
The owners are happy to share stories about the mill and its history and to show old photographs.
In the near future, Bangotne Watermill plans to host various cultural events. Later, the goal is to open a mill museum and a 19th-century-style relaxation area, where visitors can enjoy peace and quiet in nature and take advantage of the mill pond.
