Kuldīga Restoration Centre

Kuldīga Restoration Centre was established to preserve the authenticity of Kuldīga Old Town’s cultural and historical heritage for future generations. The centre carries out conservation and restoration work and also advises residents on the maintenance and preservation of historic buildings.

The centre features a woodworking restoration workshop, where visitors can observe the restoration process, which is based on traditional building renovation methods.

An educational space has also been created, featuring:

  • Informational panels explaining the importance of traditional construction materials

  • Exhibits showing restored objects before and after conservation, including porches, verandas, and unique doors

  • Research areas developed during the restoration process, providing insight into each object

  • A collection of historic woodworking tools and an interactive game to explore the tools in a fun way

During the summer season, residents of the Old Town participate in the restoration of historic building windows under the supervision of specialists, contributing their own effort to preserve the town’s heritage.
