The oldest wooden house in Kurzeme – located on the bank of the Alekšupīte River, near the Town Hall Square, this building was constructed in 1670. Its most striking features are the entrance door with a transom window and one of the oldest weather vanes, adorned with the image of a mythical unicorn.
Originally built as a residential house, it has retained its purpose over the centuries. Today, the building still contains five apartments, one of which has been converted into a guest apartment.
