The Duke’s Court Pharmacy (1622)

The beautiful building at 10 Baznīcas Street is one of the few 17th-century structures built using timber-framed construction. During the time of the Duchy of Courland, it housed the first drugstore and pharmacy. For many years, it was called the Duke’s Court Pharmacy, as a license to open a pharmacy had to be purchased from the duke. Today, it is a residential building and can only be viewed from the outside.

The building is a cultural monument of national architectural significance.
