Forest Trail Stage 91: Aizpute – Snēpele
The length of the Aizpute–Snēpele stage is 34 km.
The Forest Trail winds through Aizpute along Atmodas Street and Jelgavas Street. After passing the Laža Reservoir, it turns right and makes a wide loop, approaching the Kazdanga Manor Park from the south. Following small paths and the shore of Lake Dzirnavu, the trail leads through the manor park, around the manor house and Zēnu Pond. It then continues for 0.7 km along the Kazdanga–Cilde Road (V1200) before turning right onto the Snēpele–Kazdanga Road (V1296).
Please be careful when walking along the roadside!
At the turn from the Aizpute–Kazdanga Road (Jelgavas Street) near the Laža Reservoir, exercise particular caution.
Up to the farmhouse “Zemturi,” the Forest Trail gradually climbs into the Bandava Hill Country of the Western Kurzeme Upland, offering beautiful views in both directions. From “Zemturi,” the trail continues for approximately 12 km through a sparsely populated forest massif. Only during the final 3 km does it emerge into a more open landscape with farmland and scattered homesteads before reaching Snēpele.
