The 56 km Suiti Cycling Route passes through the ethnographic region of Suiti, connecting Kuldīga with Alsunga. Experienced cyclists can create their own route by choosing from sections of the P110 road and several scenic connecting roads of the old Suiti paths.

Along the route, you can visit several attractions, including Īvande Manor, Ēdole Castle and Church, the Murkšķi Pig Farm “Jaunstuči”, Alsunga Livonian Order Castle, and other nearby points of interest.

The cycling route also passes two walking trails: the Īvande Mill Lake Trail, which includes a well-equipped swimming area for hot summer days, and the Žibgrava Health Trail near Alsunga.

While in Alsunga, don’t miss tasting the region’s characteristic delicacy – sklandrausis.

The Suiti are a small Catholic community in predominantly Lutheran Kurzeme, consisting of Alsunga Municipality, Jūrkalne, and Gudenieki Parishes. The Suiti community is known for its women in vibrant traditional costumes, the Suiti dialect, rich wedding traditions, sklandrausis, religious customs, seasonal rituals, and the folk songs, dances, and melodies documented in this region.

The most recognizable Suiti tradition in Latvia is burdon singing – a style of singing performed by Suiti women.

In 2009, the Suiti cultural space was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
